When is a steel structure worth it instead of concrete?
When weight, large spans or speed of erection matter. We recommend metal fabrications where there are special requirements for loading, long-term durability or minimising weight.
How is the price of a metal fabrication built up?
From the amount of steel, counted in kilograms, from the workshop time for cutting, welding and assembly, from the anti-corrosion finish and from the installation on site. Transport is added separately. Two railings of the same length can cost differently if one has a pattern and the other does not.
Do you need a design before you can quote?
Not necessarily. If you have a drawing or measured dimensions, the quote is made directly from them. If not, we agree the solution first and design it ourselves — design, fabrication and installation are done by the same company.
What anti-corrosion protection is chosen?
It depends on the environment: primer and paint indoors, a tougher protection outdoors or in aggressive environments. It is decided before fabrication, because it affects both the price and the deadline.
