# Asphalt paving for yards, paths and car parks

We pave yards, paths, car parks and access roads with our own machines: Vögele and Dynapac pavers for laying, compactor rollers for compaction and a bitumen sprayer for priming. We also prepare the base, so the job is carried out from the earthworks to the final wearing course.

## What the work includes

- preparation and compaction of the base layer
- priming the surface with the bitumen sprayer
- laying the asphalt mix with the paver
- compaction with tandem rollers
- joint cutting and surface removal with the asphalt cutting machine
- repairs and patching on existing surfaces

## How it is done

1. We assess the surface and the existing layer.
2. We prepare and compact the foundation.
3. We prime the surface and lay the mix with the paver.
4. We compact to the final finish.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why does it matter who builds the layer underneath?

Asphalt does not last if the foundation is weak or poorly compacted — it cracks and sinks in the first year. That is why we also do the earthworks, not just the wearing course.

### Can you pave over old concrete or old asphalt?

Yes, if the existing surface is stable. It is primed first, and damaged areas are removed with the asphalt cutting machine.
